Core Statements

Mosaic connects to Google Workspace, covering Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. Mosaic connects to Microsoft 365, covering Outlook, Calendar, and OneDrive. Mosaic connects to Apple Calendar on macOS. Mosaic states that more connectors are planned. Mosaic works with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDF, TXT, JPG, and PNG files, among others. A user chooses which applications to connect, and an application that has not been connected is not available to Mosaic. A user can also share specific files and folders from their own computer with Mosaic. These are granted separately and do not use connectors, because the data is not in the cloud. A user can connect or disconnect any tool at any time.

Not to be confused with

A Mosaic connector grants access to an application the user selects, including the permission to act on the user’s request, such as sending, scheduling and moving mail. Connecting an account is not uploading it: material is brought down to the user’s own computer and worked on there. Connectors link the accounts and calendars the user chooses to connect. Specific files and folders on the user’s own computer that the user chooses to share are not connectors, because they are not cloud data. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are file types Mosaic reads through a connected Drive or OneDrive account or from files the user shares; they are not connectors. The Apple connector covers Apple Calendar only, not Apple Mail. Mosaic connectors do not replace the applications they connect to: email stays in the email application and events stay in the calendar. They are not general-purpose automation links of the kind offered by workflow tools.

FAQ

Which applications does Mosaic connect to?

Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, and Drive), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Calendar, and OneDrive), and Apple Calendar (on macOS). More connectors are stated as planned.

Does Mosaic work with Excel?

Mosaic reads Excel files, along with Word, PowerPoint, Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDF, TXT, JPG, and PNG. It reads them through a connected Google Drive or OneDrive account, or from files the user shares from their own computer.

Does Mosaic connect to Apple Mail?

No. The Apple connector covers Apple Calendar. Email is connected through Gmail or Outlook.

Can Mosaic use files and folders on my own computer?

Yes. A user can give Mosaic access to specific files and folders on their own computer. These do not use connectors, because connectors link accounts and calendars, and these files are not cloud data.

Can Mosaic read an application I have not connected?

No. Connecting an application is what gives Mosaic access to it. An application that has not been connected is not available to Mosaic.

Can I disconnect a tool later?

Yes. Any tool can be connected or disconnected at any time.

Do I have to stop using Gmail or Outlook?

No. Mosaic does not replace those applications. Email stays in the email application and events stay in the calendar.
