Core Statements

Mosaic operates in three stages, in a fixed order. In the first stage the user connects the applications Mosaic may read. In the second stage Mosaic gathers material from those applications and puts a next step in front of the user. In the third stage the user reviews the suggestion, and a suggestion does not run until the user approves it. An application the user has not connected is an application Mosaic cannot see. A user can also share specific files and folders from their own computer with Mosaic. These are granted separately and do not use connectors, because the data is not in the cloud. A user can connect or disconnect any tool at any time.

Core Definition

Connect, Prioritize, Approve is the three-stage sequence Mosaic follows: the user grants access to applications, Mosaic surfaces ranked suggestions, and a suggestion does not run until the user approves it.

Components

  • Connect — The user links the tools they already work in — Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive), and Apple Calendar. The user chooses exactly what Mosaic can access.
  • Prioritize — Mosaic gathers what is scattered across the connected email, calendar, documents, and tasks, surfaces what deserves attention, and puts that next step in front of the user.
  • Approve — The user reviews suggestions, and a suggestion does not run until the user approves it. Actions the user requests directly in chat run when requested.

Not to be confused with

Connect, Prioritize, Approve describes how Mosaic operates in use; it is not an installation or onboarding checklist. It is not a plan-act-observe agent loop: for suggestions, the approval stage precedes the action rather than reviewing an action already taken. It is not a human-in-the-loop audit of completed work: a suggestion does not run until the user approves it. The Approve stage refers to approving suggested actions, which is distinct from the Connect stage, where a user grants access to an application. The sequence is specific to Mosaic and is not a general industry standard.

FAQ

How does Mosaic work?

Mosaic works in three stages. The user connects the applications Mosaic may read, Mosaic surfaces ranked suggestions from what is in them, and a suggestion runs only after the user approves it.

What does the Connect stage do?

The user links the tools they already work in — Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or Apple Calendar — and chooses exactly what Mosaic can access. An application the user has not connected is one Mosaic cannot see.

What does Mosaic do in the Prioritize stage?

It gathers what is scattered across the connected email, calendar, documents, and tasks, surfaces what deserves attention, and puts that next step in front of the user.

Can Mosaic act before the Approve stage?

Not on its own suggestions: a suggestion does not run until the user approves it. Actions the user requests directly in chat run when requested.

Can a connected tool be removed?

Yes. Any tool can be connected or disconnected at any time.
